For thousands of years, people ate meat with little or no seasonings applied. Salt was a common form of preservation but could also be very expensive depending on the country you lived in. The common spices we are so used to using today such as Pepper, Garlic, Rosemary and others were not commonly available in most countries many centuries ago. Today however with our world trade, we can enjoy those wonderful Herb’s and Spices from many cultures all year long. At the Village Butcher Shoppe we pride ourselves in being able to offer some of the more common spices from major vendors and those blends that we have put together over the years. For the home sausage maker, we are also very happy to sell you the same spice mixture we use to produce some of our in-house sausage varieties. A wonderful blend of peppers, herbs and other seasons that is perfect for steaks.
Lemon Pepper
A wonderful blend of black pepper, lemon flavor and a small amount of salt. Great for use on Chicken and Fish.
Village Butcher Prime Rib Rub
Our home made blend of Salt, Black Pepper, Roasemary, Paprika, Garlic and a few other spices. Great for use on Beef and Chicken, and as an All-Purpose Seasoning for vegatables and beans.
